This is one of those dresses that makes me want to build an entire outfit around it.

The Madewell Lace-Insert Tie-Front Midi Dress has that slightly romantic, vintage-inspired feel I'm loving for fall—the lace detailing, tie front and easy midi length make it feel special without becoming too precious.

And I especially love a feminine dress when it's styled with something a little unexpected.

I'd add an oversized ivory sweater + socks + a cool flat or slip-on. Or throw a leather jacket over it and add a boot.

That contrast between something feminine and something a little tougher or more casual is what makes the whole look work.
