If you know Frye, you know the Harness.

We sold an incredible number of Harness boots at Dear Lucy over the years, and it’s still one of the styles I immediately associate with Frye. The substantial leather, signature harness hardware + unmistakable shape have made it an icon for a reason.

For this edit, I especially love the Smoke. It gives the classic Harness a softer, already-worn-in look that feels really good right now—and it adds something different among all the chocolate and warm brown leather in my fall buy.

THIS ONE BRINGS BACK MEMORIES. 🩶

There are certain shoes I can look at and immediately picture them sitting on the Dear Lucy floor. The Frye Harness is one of them.

I'd wear the Smoke with relaxed denim + a chunky cream sweater, or pair it with something feminine—a long dress or skirt—to keep it from feeling too Western.

And don't baby them. Part of what makes a Frye Harness so good is what happens after you've worn it for years.
